Origin:British. It is the most common variety in Europe. It constitutes 20% of the total production in Italy.
Tree: It is medium-strong and bears fruits early. It is durable and highly-productive due to parthenocarpy. However; it requires careful pruning; otherwise length and quality of the fruit deteriorate. It shows resemblance to different varieties of quince tree. It is recommended to use virus-free materials at all times.
Fruit: It is sometimes not properly shaped (due to parthenocarpy or inadequate dusting). It is medium-sized or good-sized. It has rust-coloured does on its green rind. Fruit flesh is creamy white; sweet and pleasant-scented. It can be preserved for months in controlled atmosphere. However; fruit flesh may easily go off in ripen fruits.
Harvest time: End of August
